Hanout

Hanout (حانوت) — take over your grandfather's little corner shop and grow it across Morocco.

Serve the neighbours of the medina: find what they ask for on the shelves, give the right change in dirhams, and keep your glass of mint tea full. Start in a tiny hanout in Marrakech, then open shop in Fes, blue Chefchaouen and the dunes of Merzouga, before the story brings you back home.

• 4 cities, 25 levels and an ending back at grandfather's hanout (about 4 hours)

• Regular customers with their own greetings and moods, and a crédit notebook for their tabs

• Shop upgrades, from a radio and a tip jar to a telescope under the desert sky
• A radio with original 80s-style Moroccan ads, and the call to prayer
• English and Moroccan Darija (Arabic)

Controls

Mouse only. The game was made for phones, so it plays in a tall window.

Install

• Windows: unzip and run Hanout.exe. If SmartScreen appears: More info → Run anyway.
• macOS: unzip and open Hanout. If macOS blocks it: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
• Linux: make the AppImage executable (chmod +x) and run it.

Made with LÖVE. Some pixel art, music and voices were made with AI tools (Sprite Fusion, Suno, ElevenLabs) and then edited for the game.
